Learn how to sublimate Unisub buttons. Perfect to rep your sports team, or accessorize a back pack.
Our buttons are made out of FRP and are one-sided. After sublimation, you can attach a safety pin adhesive to the back of the button. If you are searching for templates, graphics, or other assets click here.
What You Need
- Blank Unisub button
- Transfer from your sublimation printer
- Heat Tape
- Scissors
- Clean, lint free cloth
- Heat resistant gloves
- Protective paper (Blow Out Paper)
- Heat press set to 385°F / 195°C

Step 1. Get Your Heat Press Ready
Turn on your heat press. We recommend pressing all of our products at 385°F / 195°C. Be sure to lay a piece of protective paper on the bottom of the press.
Step 2. Prep Your Button
Clean off the button with a cleaning cloth, all-purpose cleaner, or a can of compressed air.
Step 3. Pair the Transfer With the Button
Lay the transfer down on a flat surface with the printed image facing up. Place the button shiny side down on the transfer. Take two pieces of heat tape and secure the button to the transfer.
Step 4. Let’s sublimate!
Place the transfer and button into the heat press with the transfer on top. Lay another piece of protective paper on top. Confirm that the heat press is at the correct temperature. Pressing times are below.
FRP Button: 60 – 70 seconds
Step 5. Remove the Button from the Heat Press
Once the timer is done use heat-protective gloves to remove the button from the press. Let cool.
Step 6. Attach the Adhesive Safety Pin to the Back of the Button
Remove the film from the back of the safety pin. Make sure the button is right side up and stick the safety pin to the back of the button.
