Learn how to sublimate Unisub puzzles!

Puzzles are made with a hardboard (wood) material, and come in a rectangle, heart, or square shape.  Since message boards are both one-sided sublimation instructions will be the same, but pressing times will vary. What You Need

instructions

Step 1. Get Your Heat Press Ready

Turn on your heat press. We recommend pressing all of our products at 385°F / 195°C. Be sure to lay a piece of protective paper on the bottom of the press.

Step 2. Prep Your Puzzle

Remove the plastic wrap from the puzzle. Keep the cardboard piece on the bottom of your puzzle. This will help keep the puzzle together during sublimation and if you need to ship the puzzle later. Clean the exposed surface with a cleaning cloth, all-purpose cleaner, or a can of compressed air.

Step 3. Pair the Transfer with the Puzzle

Lay the puzzle down on a flat surface with the cardboard piece on the bottom. Place the transfer on top of the puzzle facing down.

Slide the puzzle and transfer to the edge of the table. Pick it up using two hands and flip the puzzle and transfer over so the transfer is on the bottom and the cardboard is facing up.

Fold the sides of the transfer over top of the cardboard. Using heat tape secure the transfer to the cardboard.

Step 4. Let’s Sublimate!

Slide the transfer and puzzle to the edge of the surface, using two hands flip them upside down. Place the transfer and puzzle into the heat press with the transfer facing up. Confirm the heat press is at the correct temperature. Pressing times are below.

Hardboard Puzzle: 1:30 – 1:40 minutes

Step 5. Remove the Puzzle from the Heat Press

Once the timer is done use heat-protective gloves to remove the puzzle and transfer from the press. Peel the heat tape off the back of the cardboard piece and move the transfer away from the puzzle. Let cool.

Enjoy your new puzzle!
Note: if you plan to ship the puzzle we recommend keeping the card board piece attached to the back of the puzzle for easy transport.
